Today, my dad got Patch his Malaysian licence (don't ask me why he didn't have one to begin with) while I completed and submitted the relevant forms to the Pet Hotel in order to book a space for Patch at the quarantine station. That's 2 steps closer to bringing Patch to Singapore.
The more I think about it, the more excited (and nervous) I become. I really, really hope Patch will be happy in Singapore. I guess my biggest fear is the restricted space --- our apartment is significantly smaller than my parents' apartment, which in turn is smaller than our earlier house, which had a porch and garden. My only consolation is that there are lots of nice parks in Singapore and some where Patch will be allowed to run free and mix with other dogs. Plus Singapore in general is more dog-friendly (than Malaysia). There are several dog cafes and restaurants where you can bring your dog and order a meal for yourself and your dog.
The other thing that worries me is leaving Patch home alone from Mondays to Fridays while Ed and I are at work. That's why I've been checking out dog-sitters or doggy daycare. They sure don't come cheap, but they're not overly expensive either. Maybe we can afford to send him to the dog-sitter's or daycare for a couple of days a week and my sis (and TJ, of course) can come play with him once a week. I'm sure we can work something out.
Someone once said to me that Patch would be much happier here with me in a small apartment than without me in a big banglo. I sure hope he's right. I've definitely missed having a dog in my life. I think I've been so used to having a dog since I was kid that my life seems incomplete without a dog. But it's not just any dog, it's Patch I want. I've missed him terribly and it'll be good to have him with me again.

Tonight, Ed and I are finally going for bible study. After 2 years plus in Singapore. Hey, better late than never.
