Osim uSoffa Petit

on Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Today, we finally got our massage chair! It's been a long journey getting here.

We started out eyeing the Green colour but, after we repainted our master bedroom green, we changed our minds as we felt a green massage chair would make the room too green. So we switched our target to the Orange colour.

It so happened Osim was having their 30th anniversary sale and the uSoffa Petit was going for SGD698 only (instead of the USP of SGD998). Ironically, they only had the Green colour. The sales guy however told us that there was an Orange display unit that had never been used and was in very good condition. We were sold.

The following week, I headed to the showroom to check out the display unit and was sorely disappointed to find that the seat was stained  :(. The sales guy apologised and promised to look for another Orange colour unit. Another week passed before he called back with bad news: there were no more Orange color pieces. There was however 1 Red colour piece, would that do? But I was adamant - I wanted an Orange piece, no other colour would do. So with heavy hearts, we asked the sales guy to refund our money.

A week later, we purchased our Persian carpet. The moment we placed the carpet in our master bedroom, both Ed and I realised that the Red colour chair would fit perfectly!?! I quickly called the sales guy again and asked whether the Red colour unit was still available. It was! The rest as they say is history.  :)

Cupcakes

Ser May brought over a second batch of homemade cupcakes for us to try  (the first batch was for my birthday). Scrumplicious!

Christmas Tree

We (or rather, Ed) decided to bring out the Christmas tree early this year.  :)

Ed's Birthday Present

on Saturday, November 06, 2010

Ed's been eyeing this pair of shoes from Massimo Dutti, so I decided to buy it as his early birthday present. The original price was SGD175 but I managed to redeem a SGD50 voucher using our credit card points so effectively paid SGD125 only. Pretty pleased with myself.

Carpet Fiasco

on Friday, November 05, 2010

After months of looking, we finally found the perfect carpet for our bedroom! But it was not without hiccups. We were initially torn between 3 designs:

  • Design 1: Light Persian
  • Design 2: Modern shaggy
  • Design 3: Dark Persian

We managed to eliminate Design 1, so it was down to Design 2 (modern shaggy) and Design 3 (dark persian). After much debate and discussion, we decided to go with the safer option - Design 2 (modern shaggy). With much excitement, we carried our rolled up carpet out of the store and drove home. The moment we got home and unrolled the carpet in our bedroom, we knew we had chosen the wrong design  :(.

So I called the carpet store and asked whether we could exchange the carpet. The store owner was very understanding (he even chuckled) and said no problem. So we rolled up the carpet and drove back to the store. Somehow, Design 1 (which we had eliminated) came back into the picture and we spent a fair amount of time deciding between Design 1 (light persian) and Design 3 (dark persian). Ed was more keen on Design 1 while I was more keen on Design 3. In the end, we decided to go with Design 3.

Once again, we carried our rolled up carpet out of the store and drove home. When we got home, we headed straight to the bedroom and unrolled the carpet. This time, we knew we had a winner  :). The ironic thing is, just a week ago, if you'd told me that I would be purchasing a persian carpet, I would have scoffed at the idea. Yet here I am today, choosing a persian carpet over a modern one. Funny how things can turn out.
