We're getting Patch neutered next Tuesday.
It all started because of a lump on his right hind leg. The lump has been there since April last year and it's grown considerably in size since. After 3 visits to 3 different vets, we've decided to put him under the knife to remove the lump. In addition, the third vet (UPM) strongly recommended neutering him for 2 key reasons:
- Health: Neutering minimises risks of testicular and/or prostate cancer
- Behaviour: Neutering makes males dogs less likely to roam, bite, run away or get into fights
I've been having trouble sleeping the last couple of nights. I just don't know whether we're doing the right thing. It seems so cruel. Or perhaps I'm projecting my own human thoughts and feeling on Patch?
:(

Both of my dogs are nuetered - Jelly due to practical reason (if she gets impregnated by Jojo she will suffer in childbirth as the pups will be too large!) and the Jojo later too due to behavioural as well as health reasons..
Have read up and spoken to vets so don't worry you're doing the right thing.. it's indeed better for patch unless you want to breed.
am praying for him as promised :)
